Holiday Mail for Heroes: Card-Making

Now's your chance to get involved with our Fall Project, Holiday Mail for Heroes! We are now on phase two, which will be making the cards that we will eventually send over the troops that fight so bravely for our nation. If you have pride in living in the land of the free, and would like to do your part in thanking the courageous soldiers that make your life possible, here is a good chance to do so.

Phase two will consist of three after-school card-making sessions and card donation collections. The follow information is for the three card-making sessions. You can choose to attend as many or as little as you'd like, and obviously community service credit will be given for helping us make a difference in the lives of our brave troops.

December 6, 2011 from 2:35PM to 3:35PM
December 7, 2011 from 2:35PM to 3:35PM
December 8, 2011 from 2:35PM to 3:35PM

All card-making sessions will be taking place in the hallway outside of Room 24 (where we hold our club meetings)!

If you cannot make it to any one of these sessions, you can always spend time at home making your own cards, and then bringing them to a club meeting (or giving them to a board member anytime you run into one during the school day) as your donation!

Make sure you read and familiarize yourself with our card-making guidelines on the Holiday Mail for Heroes page before you begin making your own cards. Otherwise, your card and hard work will be wasted!

If you are a super busy person that can neither attend one of these sessions nor take some time at home to make one or two by yourself, but would still like to participate and do have a meaningful impact on someone's life, we offer the option to purchase a real card (that you can personalize with your own message) for $1.50. The cards you can choose from are shown on our club meeting presentation from 11-10-11; you can find this powerpoint on the "Downloads" page of our extended website.

If you'd like to bring in any spare art supplies you have so that we have more awesome things to use on the cards we make, feel free to bring them to school with you on card-making day(s)! Also, the event RSVP is available on our Facebook page, so you can quickly and easily invite some of your friends to the sessions so you can have fun while making a difference. As always, the more the merrier. (:

Stay updated with everything the club does by clicking "Like" for our Facebook page; it's where we post our quick announcements.
